What is Tribal Fitness and what does it represent?
“When I started coaching and training with weights 10 years ago, I always encountered rusty dumbbells, broken weight plates and unloaded barbells which have been bent. So the idea struck me to look for better equipment to train with and thus, Tribal Fitness was founded in 2019.”
Ultimately, Tribal Fitness is a distributor of gym equipment in Singapore, providing Strength & Conditioning equipment, such as customized functional fitness rigs, weightlifting barbells, weight plates, kettlebells, and wide range of fitness related equipment for commercial gyms, military bases, schools and for home-use.
What was the key gap you guys identified and how does Tribal Fitness address this? What differentiates you from your competitors?
In local community gyms, we experienced sub-par equipment and in the commercial gym we see big, complicated and expensive machines. As Singapore’s fitness industry is growing and people are more knowledgeable about functional training which includes powerlifting and Olympic lifting, the demand for quality equipment at affordable prices is higher. Thus we tried to enter the market with these products at more reasonable prices. In addition, we try our best to provide assistance during on-site consultations and advise on gym layouts.
How is Tribal Fitness impacting people’s lives, and what keeps customers coming back?
Here at Tribal Fitness we always try to improve our equipment to make customers’ investments long-lasting. For example, we are now offering a lifetime warranty on our kettlebells, so that customers know they can trust us with our products in the long run.
How does Tribal Fitness feel about creating communities, and how is it actively involved?
In Singapore, people get motivated when they exercise and when they are in a supportive community, so we are constantly looking to support communities in numerous ways possible, to help people get fitter and give back to society.
For example, in the past we sponsored barbells and bumper plates to Operation Broken Wing at Guoco Tower to raise funds for CARE Singapore and it was such a heart-warming experience to see so many athletes across Singapore come together and sweat for a good cause.
Additionally, we are also the sole sponsor for equipment for all Kettlebell Sports events in Singapore as we have the customized Kettlebell sports platform ready for use. We are always open to collaboration and new ideas to help our local communities.
How is technology impacting the fitness landscape, and how is Tribal Fitness adapting to it?
The triad of new-age technology; data science, machine learning and AI is behind the evolution of the fitness industry. Our quality and innovative equipment will be able to help fitness businesses train their clientele in the years to come, in order to get the results they so desire.
What does the future hold for fitness gyms/studios in Singapore, and how is Tribal Fitness influenced by it?
In this post-pandemic era, more people are training and exercising in gyms and at home to increase their resilience and immunity to diseases. More heart-land gyms are also opening up to create communities all over Singapore. The rise of HIIT franchise gyms are gaining popularity with fitness enthusiasts who are short of time and want to train in a short but effective manner. We have all the equipment needed to supply everyone, be it a set of kettlebells for home gym or a whole set of 10-man rigs for barbells and cross-training workouts. We are here to serve everybody’s needs!
What do you see in the future of fitness in the next 12-18 months?
Virtual and reality workouts will continue to make waves as more people seek out fitness experiences. Devices like AR contact lenses could provide fitness displays during workouts. Wearable fitness techs will continue to trend, smart watches, fitness trackers, and even smart clothing.
What are some of the biggest challenges Tribal Fitness had to overcome to be here today?
During the pandemic, there was an influx of orders and delayed shipments, so we are really thankful for our patient clients and customers who are understanding of our plight and in the end, create lasting bonds and loyal friendships. Another challenge was finding the right team to set-up gyms and ensure everything is going well, especially for newly established businesses.
What is Tribal Fitness’s underlying motto, and how’s this inspiring the fitness community at large?
Enhance the quality of equipment in the fitness industry and to encourage more people to work with better quality equipment.
