Simona Cipriani
Master Teacher Simona Cipriani has been a Pilates Instructor for more than 25 years. She trained at and was certified by the New York Pilates Studio and studied extensively with Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska, who was trained by Joseph H. Pilates and took over Joseph Pilates’ gym after he died. Ms. Cipriani is the founder and owner of The Art of Control Pilates Studio since 1996, presently located in Stamford, Connecticut. She works with a variety of clients in New York and Connecticut such as dancers, athletes, seniors, and Hollywood celebrities.
Ms. Cipriani is also a dancer for more than 45 years and has performed in both Europe and the US, appearing frequently as a dancer and Pilates Instructor on television. She has been a faculty member of the State University of New York since 2006 where she teaches Pilates and has created her Pilates Certificate Program, The Art and Science of Contrology. She also teaches this Certification program internationally and has presented at workshops and conferences around the world.
Ms. Cipriani is a Licensed Massage Therapist for more than 20 years and was part of the Massage Therapy Team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. And Ms. Cipriani is also a Feldenkrais practitioner since 2009.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including: the nonprofit Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), the AMTA, FAFNA and former Head of the Membership Committee for the Authentic Pilates Union (APU). Ms. Cipriani has published numerous articles on Pilates and created a Pilates DVD series for Pre-Pilates to Advanced levels, and is currently in the process of publishing a book on Pilates Mat and Small Apparatus.
